I have an Evette & Schaeffer, model Buffet Crampon, made in France with a serial number of K2531. All serial number tables I have seen do not have a 4-digit serial number, but that is what is stamped on my clarinet. Trying to establish the age of my clarinet which I bought used. Thanks. CAB

The K sries numbers are a totally different list to the Buffet professional clarinets.
Earliest data I have starts at approx K10000 in 1961 so your instrument predates this considerably - my guess is approx early 50s.

Thank you. From the info I received from the seller when I bought it was that it was early 1950's. Can't seem to find a list with K number below 10000 or higher than 999. Very grey area me thinks.Norman Smale wrote:
