Few days ago I got my new Signature -4 mouthpiece from Bradford Behn. It is absolutely beautiful! It has the best resonance and response I have ever tried! I feel very comfortable with its 1.05 tip opening and 36 mm facing length.

I believe he is talking about the Erick Brand gauge numbers, which are in half mm, so 36 would translate to 18mm

I think you will find that a typical long German facing is in region of 24-25 mm.
The length of a French mouthpiece slot or window is about 30 mm, German may be marginally longer but not much..

Are you the same Leonid Popov whose performance of the Jean Francaix clarinet concerto with orchestra appears on YouTube.com?
If you are, it would be great if you recorded something for YouTube on your new Behn -4 mouthpiece. I'm fairly sure that many members of this list (including me) have not yet tried any of the Behn Signature mouthpieces or even heard anybody play on one.
Did you accept the standard facing usually supplied on that model or request your own personal facing?

I modified the facing of Leonid's mouthpiece to his requested dimensions - as I would for any customer. Behn Signature -4 degree model plays more open than it measures (.95mm feels like a 1.0mm tip), so I determined that since he originally wanted a 1.10mm tip that in my Signature design my 1.05 facing would be right.
Regarding length, his mouthpiece is not a typical German facing - if there is such a thing anymore.

Yes, this is my recording of Francaix concerto on YouTube. But it has a very low recording quality. Maybe I will put the same recording of Francaix soon but it will be high quality...
