I have a Buffet pouchette double clarinet case which has a broken latch. The type of latch in question has a small button on the bottom half of the case which is moved to the side to allow the case to open. The top part has a small hook like appendage which has broken off. This is the part which I need to replace. Does anyone know a source for this part or have an old "over the hill" pouchette case from which the needed right hand latch case be removed?
Thanks in advance, Ed

If you can supply a picture of the broken latch and give me some measurements off it I can see if I have something that might work. I know I have a very old pouchette case in crummy condition that I'm not using but there is no guarantee that the latches will be the same size as yours.

The same latches are used on the higher spec Buffet flute and pro oboe cases (made by Jakob Winter), but you do have to be sure you get the left or right sided one.
The small metal hook part is only held in place by luck (so it seems) and often comes adrift - surely a spot weld wouldn't be out of the question to keep it fixed in place.

Attached are two pictures of the latch in question. The latch is about 1 7/8 inch wide. One picture shows the upper and lower parts of the latch, and the other shows the hole where the hook part is missing. The hook, itself, is missing or I would have tries somehow to reattach it.

I've got a latch that would probably work and looks very similar (see attached picture). I measure each half of the latch to be 1.95" wide and 0.425" tall. The two nails are spaced at ~1.65".
Shoot me an e-mail if you are interested and it is yours, no charge.

There are different sized latches for French style cases. Ohio Travel Bag is your best source if you don't want to try to get one from Buffet Crampon USA.
