Though I know this is not the usual forum, I am compelled to share with you; I simply must make a toast to the young Christopher Pell, principal clarinetist of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, for his stunning performance of the Copland Concerto this evening. The program starred Jose Franch-Ballester but at a moments notice Ballester took ill. Without hesitation, Pell volunteered to take the stage in his place. He could well have been carried the headline, for the performance was exquisite, nay, perfect. His sound was like velvet, his technique was flawless, and his interpretation that of a musician many years beyond his own. Watch for this man, he will be a star.
Bravo!

I have just looked him up, he seems very good! An inspiration for a young clarinetist like me to go practice.
