possible leak?

a friend had me play his clarinet that hasn't been used in a few years. it is a german made e11. it sounds nice but is fairly resistant. all notes sound good up to double C, but the clarion A needs a delicate touch or it squeeks. also the altissimo e is hard to voice. i think this may be due to a leaking pad ( hasn't been to the shop in 12 years.) any thoughts.

First get it checked out by a good tech, unless you have the skills to do this yourself. It it's resistant and it squeaks then it almost certainly leaks.
