Very inspiring story for us old guys.
It is good news and bad news for me though.
The good news is I'm 14 years his junior, and he only learned to play at about the age of 40.
The bad news is he's been playing about 45 years longer than me :^(

I'm 59 and just picked up a clarinet for the first time a few weeks ago. I have about 30-45 minutes practice on it. I can play "MY old Kentucky Home", "You are My Sunshine" "There's No Place Like Home" and a few others. I play it by ear. I have such limited time on it as I was and still am getting my gums to heal from all of the teeth pulled and getting used to dentures for the first time. I did start playing a Duduks (Armenian double reed wind instrument ) since last Christmas, but it was the first wind instrument, except for a melodica, that I have ever tried. So it's nice to hear stories of older folks playing. I have to add that I don't have a teacher, just learning what I can from youtube and forums.
