I have tried to study previous posts. I have an Evette clarinet "made by Buffet Company", "Paris, France". It does not say sponsered by Buffet. It is not an "Evette and Schaeffer". It is not a Master but it does have a serial number D4541. So, I can't find anything about this line; what I have seen is Evettes were either Labeled as "sponsered by Buffet" or an "Evette and Schaeffer" and mine is neither. I know it was made sometime in the 1960s.
So, can someone explain this model and, I assume, it was a student model? Thank you.

You can find some good information on Steve Sklar's site: http://www.clarinetperfection.com/clsnBuffetES.htm
Based on the information listed there the Evette clarinets that were made in France and have serial numbers starting with "D" were most likely made by Malerne. If your clarinet was made in Germany than it was made by Schreiber.
In any case your clarinet was an intermediate model and probably towards the bottom of that range (the Master Model was the upper-intermediate).
