I lead a clarinet quartet that participates in competitions. My quartet is in the process of entering a competition, and I would someone to recommmend a good piece suitable for this competition and where I could purchase the piece. (Especially through the internet) Thank You.

Yvonne Desportes also has an Italien Suite and Normandie. Another good quartet is Sonate en Sol Mineur by Albinoni. Call Eble Music in Iowa City.

One of my faves, scored for Eb, 2 Bbs, and Bass, are the "Scenes from Hungary"
by Farkas Ferenc, Ferenc Farkas if you put the surname last. Fun parts for all,
some extra challenges for the Eb, interesting use of time signatures, good writing.

P.S. I'm in a Sextet that does it's own arrangements of baroque, classical, and pop pieces. What genre of music were you thinking of?

It depends on what level your on but for our high school advanced level we're playing some cool Quartet in F and Caprice, and come circus sounding Entry of the Gladiater.

The Desportes is out of print. I tried to order it last month from Peppers and they send me an email. :/
There are a lot of good pieces (I posted something on this about a month or so ago) - check the archives for it -
