Clarintetist on Vacation in Florida!!!!!!!

My wife and I will be vacationing in Pompano Beach, Fl, from March 10th through the 17th. When traveling, I like to bring my clarinets with me and "sit in" on local concert band or orchestral rehearsals-- with permission, of course. Great way to meet local residents, play new music and avoid spending too much time away from the clarinet and too much money on "self indulgment." My question, therefore, is if any of you know of any band or orchestra in the area and the phone number or email address I could use to make connections (and get directions)? Reasonable distance is no problem--"Have Clarinet, Will Travel" is my motto. Thank you, all, and good clarineting!!! (please feel free to reply to my e-address rather than posting on the BB)

There used to be a community band at Boca Raton, which is near Pampano Beach.

You may find other bands along your route. Check the Community Band and Orchestra links at http://www.boerger.org/c-m/commother.shtml.

If you happen to be in the Melbourne area at 7:30 on a Tuesday evening, you might stop by the Melbourne Municipal Band Rehearsal Hall, located behind the Melbourne Auditorium. <A HREF="http://www.dreamnetstudios.com/music/mmb/index.htm">See the Band's Web Page for a Map.</A>
