I have been using a Vandoren B145. mouthpiece for a while until I was given a Selmer HS** mouth piece. I find the HS** produces by far better quality sound, however I am having dificulty controlling it as well as the B145.
Can someone please advise me of the differences/similarities between these two mouthpieces.
I understand everyone is different but would appreciate if you can give me a guide on a reed strength for the HS**.
I have a Lablanc LX and Eddie Daniels Rovner ligiture.
Thank you all in advance.

The HS** has a 1.20mm tip opening and I think the lay is 18mm.
I just bought this O'Brien Selmer Clarion crystal HS** off eBay and replaced the tenon cork and made a new brass tenon ring for it as the original wasn't made or fitted particularly well.
