The Baltimore Symphony is doing their Academy again for Rusty musicians. If you're interested in learning more about it visit our website at bsomusic.org, go to about the BSO in the menu and click on Academy. That way you can read all about it instead of asking me. It's a great experience for those of you that are a little older and want a great experience in playing with members of the BSO, taking free classes, and playing chamber music and lessons if you want to as well. This is our third year and it's been very successful so far. You don't have to be an accomplished clarinet player to get a lot out of it, but it helps if you can at least play the instrument. :-) Check it out. ESP eddiesclarinet.com

Drew, I agree and thought that would be a problem but all of the participants that I've worked with the past two years said it was well worth the money. One person said to me, when I ask them about it, that it's less than taking most vacations for a week and they got so much more out of it. We have some returning for a third year in a row this year. It is a great experience. By the way, we only take about 8 of any WW because we divide the participants into two orchestras so there's only four in each, plus the BSO members sitting by their side. Yes, It sounds amazing, I'm just 28 and 2011 was a tough year. It's probably not designed for players in my position. Maybe I'll get the chance some day.
