Just wanted those who were following my mention of my purchase of this Buffet Crampon Evette with the rarer Serial Number that starts with a C, C77XXX...
This per information I found stated that it is still a model that was made in France and was wood.
This still might be a France item, but it is not wood, but a very solid other material and the parts are nice on it.
It is, just to mention, fail in a few areas: it came without a thumb rest (is that not strange?) and various pads need to be replaced...and the two main parts meet too much, so I noticed it has to be pulled out ever so slightly to have the proper connection with the meeting components.
However, the quality of the parts speak for themselves...the parts and adjustments work so well...I am impressed.
I say all this to say, the one who made the information on the Evette's might want to add that the "C" serial numbers are also made of other materials than wood as well. Although, I can't be sure, but it seems to suggest that this clarinet was made in 1963???
