loved it GBK ... but damn I think I swallowed a shot glass!!
and 4:12, that's longer than Hamlet!
... check another version if you haven't heard the Sinatra Live at The Sands C.D. w/ the Basie Band -Quincy Jones arrangements..... (Marshall Royal is god; you can get off on that 5h*t)
....also theBefore Frank disc the band did that same night is killer
....and Breakfast with Basie the band recorded at 7 a.m. or so the next morning (after what I assume a night of some tasteful debauchery) has the tightest trumpet section you'll ever hear
.... and one more, The Great Paris Concert- Duke Ellington 2 c.d. set (Johnny Hodges is killing it)
sorry these aren't simply clarinet related recordings, but you got me on a big band kick GBK. And as I am currently bed-ridden (not even supposed to be sitting at the computer right now!) you brought some music to mind to occupy me

Nice orchestral playing, particularly from the oboist. Frank is pretty well buzzed, and the cigarettes interfere with his breathing a bit, but he's still unique.
I think it's Walter Cronkite on the voice-overs. He hadn't settled into his patented avuncular tone of voice, but his particular way of phrasing was as unique as Frank's.
