 Clarinet/Piano music

does anyone know where to get (or on the web) music that is written for piano and clarinet - and not just the difficult classical pieces. I would like to play with my wife but it is very hard for her to transpose and I can't.

Bill - try the following site:

http://www.musicbysunset.com/PRINTABLE%20MUSIC%20PLUS.htm

There are about 85 pieces listed there for clarinet and piano.

Bill – bear in mind that most electronic keyboards have a transposition function – therefore both the clarinet and "piano" could be in Bb (or A, or whatever).

Of course it's not quite the same as a REAL piano...

Bill
you may want to look into acquiring a music writing program. I found a copy of MuzicTime for about $30.00. It is not very sophisticated but it does covert midi files to a printable form and it has a transposition function. I also think I remember reading on this board someone stating there was a shareware or free version.

Actually MusicTime is quite sophisticated. If you explore all the features, there are amazing things that you can accomplish with it. I've used it extensively for fairly complex things. GVOX was making it available for awhile for free at it's educational site, www.notationstation.net, but now you will need to go to <www.gvox.com> and order it if you want it.

I see a number of typos. However to get MusicTime, you will need to go to

<www.gvox.com> and order it.

The coment about the transposing feature on most keyboards is a good one. Not just keyboards, but most newer digital opianos and electronic organs do as well. We're waiting for a Korg piano to be delivered for my wife (not everyone can play clarinet!) The weighted action key mechanism is very convincing of the real thing (says she, what do I know!) We decided on digital for several reasons, the transposing feature was important with 2 clarinetists in the family. Also, the weight is less for moving it, and there will be no need for periodic professional tuning, a big consideration with an airconditioned house in coastal South Jersey.

Bill, remember too as you look for music, it need not be specifically for piano and clarinet, but rather for a b flat instrument. We've had great fun with some old arrangements of Herb Alpert stuff for piano and trumpet.
