Bass clarinet trill fingering

I have a student whose bass clarinet high C-D trill fingering sounds like C-Eb. He has tried the left trill key as well as the right G# trill key. Is it the result of the throat tone keys being too high? Any ideas? Thanks.

I just use the thumb key to trill from C to D. It may take a little embouchure change as I generally don't use the octave key to get the D as it becomes sort of clumsy. Just overblow the F to G trill. This seems to be in pretty good tune too.

Yes, on the bass clarinet the side trill keys are somewhat different from the regular clarinet. Eefer guy got it right, just trill by lifting the C thumb key and you will get a D. Some basses require keeping the register key depressed but going back and fourth fast it should work well by just lifting it, on most bass clarinets anyway.
