There are a lot of threads on this BB about Patricola clarinets but I haven't seen anything on this model (search turned up nothing). It is advertised as a "full Boehm", but pictures don't show a low Eb. It does appear to have articulated G#, forked Bb, and left hand Eb key. I'm a big fan of extra mechanisms, particularly articulated G# (I'm primarily a sax player) so this instrument has caught my interest. I currently play the Selmer Presence which I like a lot so the last thing I need is another stick but those extra mechanisms on the CL5 are a big attraction and the price of the horn is an attractive 4K. So anyone have any playing experience with this horn? I haven't found anything with google searches except for advertising material.

Not exactly the same, but I tried the Artiste Bb clarinet with gold plating at the last clarinet event in Orlando (some time ago now......four years?). That clarinet was super responsive and just a gorgeous sounding horn. I had just purchased a new clarinet some months prior and didn't get it (despite the great "show price").
If the rest of the Patricola line is of similar quality, I'm sure it would be a great horn.

Thanks Paul. Very interesting. I would think the CL.5 would be basically the same haorn as the CL.4 plus the extra mechanisms.

I believe the CL4 is the full Boehm model, including the low Eb, while the CL5 is the “3/4 Boehm” with all the gizmos except the low Eb. Strange nomenclature!

I think this is correct. The model I'm interested in is the 3/4 Boehm. I'm assuming they're the same horn except for the low Eb.

Thought it might help to have the website available. Almost as awkward to navitgate as it is to find. You need to search for Fratelli Patricola.

Update. As it turns out the CL5 is no longer available, so I got the CL4 instead. It's the same instrument but with the addition of low Eb (full Boehm). Very pleased with this horn so far. I started an earlier thread where I compare it to my Selmer Presence.
