I have just acquired an Amati ACL 315 full boehm clarinet. What can you tell me about it? Thanks so much.

Sounds like the later designations (ACL XXX). 3-series is the intermediate line of Amatis. I had for a brief time an Amati 6-series clarinet (which is their professional level). It was a VERY VERY good clarinet. Easily comparable with today's entry level pro clarinets (think "R-13").
I'm not sure how their intermediate line is, but it should be a pretty solid clarinet. Some fanciness with it being a full boehm (which is the "15" after the 3). 314 would have been full boehm minus the low Eb.
Should be a good intermediate instrument, have fun with it, and let us know how it plays! I know my old 604 played VERY well.

I have the 6 series(615) pro model and from the moment I played the first notes on it was a great instrument. I gotten used to having the extra keys as I use those frequently anyway. sound and tone are fantastic, and very responsive. I use a vandoren M30 mp with it and sometimes even the stock mp that came with it (JP8) responds well. both with Mitchell Lurie 4 reeds.
enjoy it .dont know much about the intermediate series but the pro series is a very nice instrument.

I recently acquired a used Amati Full boehm clarinet and I like it very much, ACL 605.
It required very little work to get it in great playing condition.
A friend purchased the Eb Amati and the C Amati. She likes the C, but does not like the Eb. She wanted them for symphony work.
All three instruments were inherited by a woman who was not a musician and she needed to sell them to pay vet bills.
