What is the best mouthpiece/reed combo for a low C Amati Bass? Thanks!

I play a Walter Grabner CX_BS bass clarinet mouthpiece and would do so regardless of which bass clarinet I was playing it on. A good mouthpiece is a good mouthpiece, period. As for reeds, Legere reeds, #3 or 3.5 worked well, however, this past summer I have been auditioning some prototype Forestone bass clarinet reeds that, for me, are superior to any other reed I've ever played on bass. They are still in final stages of development and should be available soon.

I play one of these although it was worked on to increase loudness. Nonetheless the defining characteristic I think is that it is not a big or loud sounding instrument, and the sound is very focussed and prone to being reedy. On the other hand the sound can be very telling and avoids being too smooth to register with the listener. My experiments with mouthpieces have always brought me back to my Pillinger GH model. But I think the key thing to consider is a mouthpiece with a smooth sound and with enough tip opening to get some increased volume.
