 Leblanc blue Clarinet

I have a blue clarinet that is made by Leblanc. It is labeled Vito. I know that Leblanc made some colored clarinets named Dazzler but never hear of one labeled Vito. Are they the same with just different names.?Did the Dazzlers come first or was it the Vito.

Anyone know?

The Dazzlers were Vito Reso-tone 3s, just produced in different colors. Vito is one of Leblanc's student lines.

They are perfectly fine student instruments.

Agreed, perfectly good student line of clarinets. Probably directed at the marching band market.

Agreed. The Dazzler was Vito's attempt to break into the marching band market as well as, like the Bliss clarinets today, make a clarinet that is visually exciting to the student.

The like of the Dazzler perhaps won't be seen from the big 4 due to the proliferation of the CSOs. A pity really...

I'll be honest, and admit that I have and use 3 of them regularly in various groups.

I mix-and-match the parts to the red and white ones for my community orchestra's Christmas concerts - think candy canes. I add the blue one to the mix for my town band's patriotic concerts.

It's all just for fun, the audience gets a kick out of it. Then we go back to the Buffets.

i have seen the colorful clarinets at college pep bands and they are very appealing. Kids love them .

kalmen opperman was such an outstanding teacher. may he rest . he was loved by many. We have been blessed to have known him.

I've seen pictures of coloured instruments with the 'Vito' logo but without 'Dazzler'. I'm curious - are these unlabelled Dazzlers, some other (similar) Vito model without a name and, if so, earlier or later, frauds, or what?

If the clarinets in question held the Vito logo, they were Dazzlers. The Dazzler logo was on the bell only and may not have been used on the earlier runs of the clarinets.
