Hallo:
Does anyone know of any summer courses in mainland Europe for adult clarinettists who are about intermediate level? (ie. me) (grade 4-ish UK). I have been learning for coming up to 2 years and would like to do some band practice and possibly have a couple of private lessons. I am signed up to do a course in the UK this summer but thought that I could combine my two hobbies (clarinet and language) next year. Any ideas welcome.
Thanks!
Maruja

There's an oboist who posts here and on the UK ABRSM forums.
She recommended this one:

Go to 'Wind Chamber Music'.
It's in English, but you'll get to use your french as well.
Bonne chance!

Is Dartington the one you're doing in the UK this summer?
If not I can definitely recommend it... I have been hired the last few years to play with the orchestra there and sat in on some of the masterclasses for the course participants. They have top top top clarinettists come in to do these, so it's a really fantastic opportunity to learn from the best. And what a beauuuutiful place to do it in, too.
