I know, I know, there have been many posts about Backun bells. I have a specific question. Has anyone tried a Backun bell on a Selmer series 9*.
I recently got an accubore barrel for my 9* and found the tone more centered, "bigger" and more of that elusive sound it seems we all keep looking for. The richer, bell-like resonant tone quality. What about the Backun Bell?

I can't speak for the series 9 but I use one for my Selmer Signature, I know it's different but it is a Selmer. It's always worth a try. See if you can't get several to try on a trial basis because everyone is somewhat different. I love mine. ESP http://eddiesclarinet.com

I suggest sending Backun Musical Services an e-mail--they were extremely helpful when I was looking for a barrel not long ago, and I was able to audition several barrels on a trial basis. You may be able to arrange for a trial period to test out a bell on your Selmer.
