I purchased an old PENN metal clarinet on ebay and and have also seen a few PENN clarinet mouthpieces on there during the past year. Does anyone know who PENN was? My last name is PENN and don't know of anyone on this side of my family who was involved with the clarinet in any way. I know very little about my family tree and have never done any geneaological research; however, with the vast number of people visiting this bulletin board, some of you may have knowledge or information about the PENN name on this clarinet and the mouthpieces. Any responses that can shed some light on who was involved with the PENN clarinet and mouthpieces will be greatly appreciated.
Ron

I'd suggest Searching the metal cls discussions in our archives, in partic. Jim Lande's listings of makes. The nearest name I know of is Penzel [early] and Penzel-Mueller in the early 1900's. Luck, Don

Well, Bill Penn here in my hometown plays keyboard. But, perhaps the Penn was made in Pennsylvania or was a Cundy model. Certainly not Polish or it would have been named Penske.
