On the Yahoo Early Clarinet board, I came across two pages I hadn't seen before.
The first shows a Bb soprano, a paperclip BBb contra to low C and a BBBb octocontra http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EarlyClarinet/photos/album/164915349/pic/1012850395/view?picmode=&mode=tn&order=ordinal&start=1&count=20&dir=asc. The caption says it's from a from a 1959 article by MacGillivray. Al Rice wrote about at http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/EarlyClarinet/message/1857, noting that it appeared in the Galpin Society Journal.
The second, also posed by Al Rice, is from Leblanc's ca. 1960 catalog and shows a metal paperclip bass to, I think, low C and a paperclip BBb contra to low C. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EarlyClarinet/photos/album/164915349/pic/1012850395/view?picmode=&mode=tn&order=ordinal&start=1&count=20&dir=asc. Oh for a time machine to take advantage of the original prices -- $390 and $450.
Also, Denis Watel has put up some new photos in his wonderful blogs at http://clariboles-et-cie.blogspot.com/ and http://acimv.blogspot.com/. The second one shows a drawing of an insanely complicated saxophone triple octave key mechanism, plus a charming Christmas card with a clarinet, double bass and pig.

It's a free registration. Al Rice alone makes the Early Clarinet list worth joining.
