 Clarinetist in Alabama Halftime Show

Does anyone know who the clarinet soloist was in the University of Alabama Band's halftime show in the BCS Championships? This person was playing a pretty fine jazz clarinet in both tunes that were shown on TV, but no mention of who it was. I didn't even see anyone playing.

See my thread below - good idea, lousy execution. No idea who it was, but someone said it was asst. prof. of clarinet something.

The amplification was a bit overdone, but some pretty decent talent.

DixieSax,

"The amplification was a bit overdone, but some pretty decent talent."

I'm curious, by your comment, if you attended the game and the clarinet was too loud. On my TV, the clarinet soloist could have been louder. There were a couple of times, the clarinet part faded away or was difficult to hear. Too bad he didn't get any public recognition or camera time.

By overdone, I meant that the gain was so high that there was a lot of distortion to the sound. I know, it's tough to amplify a clarinet over a college marching band to fill a whole stadium and deliver well over TV, but I'd have liked to have been able to hear the guy's real core tone better - he seemed to be a pretty damn good jazz player.

And it wasn't the clarinet--Dr Osiris (he signs his emails, Ozzie)--mentioned that he was playing one of his Buffet R13's with a Cicero Kaspar "#4" mpc. I suspect that he is of the younger generation of college clarinet professors adapt in all venues of clarinet performance, not just classical. Here is his university webpage:
