Hi there, and merry Christmas eve to you guys and gals out there.
Less than a week ago, I purchased a wooden clarinet that hasn't been used for a good few years. This being my first wooden model, I'm being a bit more cautious as to prevent cracks and taking a bit more care into breaking in the clarinet. I've looked all across the web in search for good, safe methods of breaking in the instrument. As most of them say, for the first week, the horn should be played for about 15 minutes and then thoroughly swabbed.
The problem is that I will be going on a ski trip for a few days. The question is whether or not to bring along the clarinet, and what should be done.
It would probably be a much better idea to wait for a better time to break it in, but it will be needed on the fourth of January, so I will need to break it in immediately.
What do I do?
Thank you for reading and taking the time out to answer. ^_^
