I auditioned for the GMJO today in Oslo. Didn't go very well; my reeds seemed to let me down (haha! When don't they?) and I was a little nervous, so as I remember it I didn't sound that good. Besides, I attempted playing the Shostakovich Scherzo from Symphony no. 9 faster than I was able to.

I played Weber first concerto, and was asked to play the Mendelssohn Scherzo from A Midsummernight's Dream, E Lucevan e Stelle from Tosca and the beforementioned Shostakovich.

Does anyone else have any experience with the Mahler Jugendorchester? Is anyone going to audition?

I read on the website of the orchestra that on average, 1 500 musicians apply. This year, five clarinetists played with the GMJO. I suppose that means about 50-60 clarinetists apply on average... Well, it is always nice to get some auditioning experience though.
