Hi
I have a few questions about Turkish and "Greek clarinets".
I'm putting the quotes because I don't think there is a Greek clarient, right? What I'm interested to know is what types of clarinets are usually in folk/traditional/??? Greek music? I've seen some players use what looked like Albert system. I think I saw some with Boehm system too (I'm not sure if I ever saw German system). I also someone using a Turkish clarinet for Greek music.
Also about Turkish clarinets. The ones I saw seemed like Albert or maybe some type of German system. I think I saw one with Boehm system but maybe I don't remember. So what system do they usually use for Turkish music when playing Turkish clarinet?

But to see if I understand, do you mean Turkish clarinet is never Boehm system?
But what about the Greek music clarinetists? I've definitely seen many some use what looked like Bb German/Albert system. The problem is I haven't seen enough to have any sort of statistics abotu what is more common, etc.

I've never seen a French System clarinet in G, only German systems.

It appears that some Turkish clarinet players play a Girnata brand clarinet. It is an Albert system G clarinet made by the HUBB Workshop for Musical Instruments in Izmir, Turkey.

Both Turkish and Greek clarinetists play what we commonly call "Albert" system. Turkish players usually play the low G horns, sometimes metal sometimes wood. Greek players play C, Bb, A, or sometimes low G instruments. Armenian clarinetists also use the low G Albert system too.

If you get a G clarinet, stay far, far away from the ones sold by Lark in the Morning. They're cheap, but everyone who's reported on them says they're unplayable.

We Greek "klaritzides" play what are called "Albert" or "Simple" or "German" system clarinets (we call them klarina). In the old days, the C was the most favored. Now most play Bb, or A; some, like me, play the C mostly. A few use the G (I have one and use it sometimes too). Some of us prefer no rings on the upper joint. Some like the two rings (we call them "eyeglasses" or "matoyialia"). Some like the "double DO" (double C) or patent C# mechanism; my favorite Buffet Albert is "mono DO" (single C), or no patent C# mechanism.
Some prefer rollers on the little finger keys, some do not (I do not).
