Hello all. I was wondering if anyone on this board has been in, or has been recently accepted into the National Wind Ensemble, H. Robert Reynolds conductor, playing in Carnegie Hall this next May 26th 2002. I was accepted into the group and was wondering if I'd see any of you Sneezy users there in the band.
If anyone here has played in it before I'd liek to know what your experiences were like.

It is a nationally auditioned wind ensemble made up of high school to college students. for the audition you send in a tape 8 -10 minutes in length showing off you plaing ability. Along with a resume, and a letter of reccomendation. There is a week of residency in New York then a concert in Carnegie Hall.

I played under H. Robert Reynolds back in 1972 & 3 in the Wisconsin High School Honors Band. He's an excellent condictor and person. Enjoy it. Let us know what you play.
Back then we did a transcription of a Bach chorale, Hindemith Symphony in Bb and Fiesta del Pacifico by Norman Dele Joio (I think, (sp))

Coming from a town that was 20 minutes away from Ann Arbor, Michigan, naturally many of band personnel at my high school were affiliated with the University of Michigan, where H. Robert Reynolds was Director of Bands until this year. Everyone that I have talked to that played under him, including my clarinet lesson teacher, had nothing but praise for the man. If at all possible, try to talk to him while you're in NYC... even if it's just an introduction. I worked up enough courage to introduce myself to him when I saw him at a college band concert, and he was very nice. Savor every moment of playing in Carnegie!
