Hello,
I am new to this board, I will admit I'm nowhere near an expert at clarinets.
But I am good at computers, and I've spent a long time trying to find out what model clarinet I managed to come by.
It is a Noblet Normandy Clarinet, it has the Normandy Shield logo, but the problem is it has no numbers.
The serial number is 3743
It was given to my Fiance's Dad, he said it belonged to his father.
I haven't been able to match it up to anything.

Hi,
Is your clarinet plastic or wooden? It looks wooden, but I can't really tell from the picture. If it's plastic, it's likely a Normandy Resotone. If it's wooden and there are no numbers in/ above the shield, it may be a Normandy Special. I don't know if the Specials or Resotones had names on the instruments to indicate the models. From what I've read, some Specials had plastic bells and barrels, as opposed to wooden, while others had silver plated keys, as opposed to nickel.
Incidentally, Normandys came in Noblet cases, but the Noblets were the better instrument. They're different. What you have is simply a Normandy ______.
See this post for further information:

Incidentally, if you have any idea of the year that your fiance's dad bought the instrument, I'd be very interested to know.
