They both have a good reputation. For those of you played the 2 mouthpieces, which do you like better?

Fobes Debut. I don't know what it is about the MP, but I like it's dark sound. I don't own the Genn but I've played a couple at a not-so-local store for kicks (though I could be muxing it up with different MPs - I tried a lot at the same time)

i have both ; i prefer the fobes, many of my students use a fobes.
both are good mouthpieces - you should try out both , with a tuner in front of you and select the one that works best for you.

I've got the Forte, Mezzo, and also the Excellente Model. They all are quite good and I wouldn't say that the Debut (nor the Premiere of Hite) are better. The all are cut very, very evenly - great facing shapes on all 3 of them. Ben is doing a tremendous job with them. If only he had ended up with the Gigliotti line it might be doing well and being played at this point by anybody... (anybody who has tried to replace them in the past 15 years)
It's all about personal comfort and sound. Personally I detest Vandoren Mouthpieces (have played on at least 4 models for a total of 6 years and have had students that have used them for many, many years, but just don't like them myself!)

I've yet to try one that I could really easily articulate on. And I find the sound to be too bright.
That's just me, and of course there are (probably better players who are playing great on them.
Personal choice thing. They are probably the best "bang for the buck" though
