I promise, I don't make these things up! First, my cork grease getting stuck in my bore and now...

Was playing in Christmas concert last night and between numbers, took my barrell and mouthpiece off to swab the rest of the clarinet. Just as my mouthpiece came off, my ligature literally went flying though the air and landed in the cluster of poinsettias adorning the edge of the stage.

Fortunately, the player who was sitting closer to the plants got out of her chair to fish for my ligature. The audience had a good little chuckle about that.
