My student's band director has lent her a Selmer Omega clarinet. I noticed the barrel was inscribed 63.5. She had been pulling out from the barrel and the mouthpiece in band to compensate.
1.) Is it common for Semer Omega's to have a 63.5 barrel?
2.) Is it possible that this instrument is pitched at 442 and not 440?
I'm not familiar with this horn or Selmer clarinets in general. It is definately the new stock of Intermediate Selmer Omega's - not the Paris model.
Thank you.
