I have, from an ebay purchase, on a whim, A Harry Pedler clarinet. That is all I know about it. I play flute, but I'd like to learn clarinet if I had a clarinet to learn on. Can anybody give me more information (or point me in the right direction) about this clarinet?
The case says "PEDLER". The clarinet is wooden. The bell, first joint, and second joint all say "HARRY PEDLER & Co. ELKHART, IND." The barrel does not appear to actually go with the clarinet (though all parts fit together nicely) as it says "KW CONN U.S.A." and is a different color than the rest of the clarinet. Likewise, the mouthpiece isn't native to this clarinet, it says "Perfectone". There is no ligature. I cannot find a serial number or anything to distinguish or date the clarinet. It seems to have all of it's cork and pads, and has no bent keys, though I doubt that it is in working order. Of course, I have no way to know.
Thanks for any help!

Whoa! Now - it is not unusual that not all parts of a clarinet come from the same source. Usually, the bell, the lower and upper join stay together. As does in most cases the barrel as well. Don't assume that the mouthpiece has anything to do with the rest, it usually doesn't, has been bought elsewhere.
You say you're playing flute - any chance you know a co-flutist who happens to double in other woodwinds? Might be an opportunity to have him/her play test your acquisition and tell you what's right and what's wrong with it.
(I evaded the implicit question whether or not your clarinet is worth anything or not. I try never to answer such a question unless I had it in my own hands.)
