This is all I can find!
Little is known about Paul DeVille other than the fact that he wrote one of the seminal texts for the teaching of Saxophone which has been the standard for almost 100 years. It is interesting to note that the Universal Method was part of a larger series of books by DeVille. The Universal Method series included pedagogical methods for Flute, Clarinet, Harp, Saxophone, Cornet, Trombone, Sarrusophone and Xylophone all published by Carl Fischer. The Saxophone method is the only method in the Universal Method series that remains
in print.
