Hi, my clarinet/sax quartet has been asked to play at a wedding in a couple of months time.
As well as background music they want us to play while the bride walks down the isle.
Does any one know of any quartet music that would be suitable as we normally play jazz!
We can manage most combinations of clarinets or saxophones
between us, difficulty shouldn't be too much of a problem
Details of publishers etc would be useful.
Thanks,
Lindy

I believe the "good ol' book" Clarinet Sessions has some quartets, has a beautiful Mozart Adgio trio [have a bass double the 1st cl part, softly, octave down! etc!! Also look in Brymer and Lawson for suggestions and comments on difficulty. Don

The Mozart Adagio is marvelous music. However, it calls for 3 basset horns, at least 2 of which go too low for Bb clarinet and too high for bass. Also, the music is SO good that it calls attention to itself, and it has several longish pauses, which you don't want.
What's the matter with "Here Comes the Bride" (the wedding march from Lohengrin? It's in every wedding music collection, and I assume there's at least one of those for clarinet or sax quartet.
Good luck.

Ken - My copy of Cl Sessions has [an?] Adagio for 3 sop cl's , I dont doubt the original was for 3 B H's, but it is very playable. I'm sure there are many others pieces of similar character [divertimenti, serenades etc] , such as the Handel trios I've played. Don
