With so many different clarinet quartets available, it's sometimes difficult to know which are appropriate for a particular group, skill level, musical taste, etc. Our amateur quartet has posted simple "reviews" of many quartets on our website http://www.CarolinaClarinet.org Each "review" has info like playing times, very brief comments, and very short (a few seconds) sound clips for may quartets. The clips are our live amateur recordings from a variety of venues with essentially no editing, studio set-up, etc.
We hope these "reviews" will let folks know a little bit about a piece, and therefore make a better choice about what to purchase or check out of their library. There are a total of over 175 quartets listed and, at this time (9/7/08), there are well over 100 clips there. As time goes on, we plan to increase the content.
If you have a chance to look at the site, let us know if it's helpful. We welcome any comments for improvements. Keep in mind that this is simply an amateur hobby for us - we are not selling or promoting anything, and we are just doing this in our spare time to help folks.
