Hi everybody,
I have a quick question about an orchestral excerpt that I have to play at a college audition on Saturday. I have never played in orchestra before, so the whole thing with two clarinets is pretty new to me. I am to play the first five systems of the "Bartered Bride", and there is no indication of what clarinet I am supposed to play on. To the left of the music (before the first treble clef) it says 'in C'. The piece is written out in F. What clarinet do I use (and do I have to transpose???)? I realize that this is probably a stupid question, but I have no idea what to do. Thanks!

You would play it on a C clarinet. If you do not have one, you will have to transpose the music up a whole step.
