New Yamaha Double case is Protec

I received and returned the new Yamaha double case. Very sturdy, heavy canvas and zippers, but the same as the Protec Double case. It is a useful case, though with not enough barrel and/or mouthpiece space. It is also more expensive than the Protec. The former Yamaha double was indeed a laptop case reinvented for a couple of clarinets, but it fit 4 barrels and a couple of mouthpieces as well. I purchased an exacto knife and an insert and will see how it works in the old shell.

And now, finally, the clarinet world waits to hear if you can really "cut it"....

[lol--good luck]
