Just out of couriosity, has anyone ever figuered out who made and sold the Henkin line? I just picked up another one and repadded it for a sixth grader. They seem to be a pretty decent little horn.

Henkins were made by Conn, I believe after it was bought out /absorbed into UMI (United Musical Instruments), whose owner was (and maybe still is for all I know) Donald Henkin (I may be a bit off on the sequence of events and Henkin's first name, so someone please correct me if you know the real deal!). I once owned a soprano sax (actually manufactured by Keilwerth) under the Conn stencil, with the model name "DJH-Modified", where "DJH" stood for Donald J. Henkin. I hope this helps muddy the waters a bit!

Thanks Dave. I never would have suspected Conn or UMI.
