I could swear that I once came across an arrangement of the Clarinet Concerto for an A clarinet and string quartet. Now I find no trace of it online and the local music stores are scratching their heads. Has anyone seen this or know where I can find it? Maybe someone is more savvy with a search engine than I am?

I recall seeing the slow movement in this arrangement; IIRC it was published by International, but with parts only - no score.
I couldn't find just now. Maybe it's out of print.

Many thanks for the lead, Davyd. The hunt is on!

Could you be confusing the concerto with the quintet?

I have the parts to this arrangement, and it is in fact only the Adagio- no score included.
It's called "Adagio from K.622" as I remember (I don't know exactly where it is at the moment, perhaps not with me at college), so perhaps you're looking for something with a slightly different title than it should be.
I don't know if it's out of print, but I do remember purchasing it on sale (for about $2.50!) on sale about five years ago.
Good luck! I have yet to read through it with a quartet, but I suspect it would be nice.
Bradley
Edit:
It is transposed on one side of the music for Bb, with the 'original' A clarinet part on the other.

Go to amazon.com and search for Clarinet Concerto for an A clarinet and string quartet
or click this link
If the CD is out of production there is a chance that a seller may have a copy and do business with you.

This item is available from Sheet Music Plus. I can't get the link to work, but you've got enough information to find it. The current price is about $10 US, plus shipping.
