I'm currently using a Vandoren B45dot w/ Mitchell Lurie #4 reeds (either on my Selmer CL-200 (marching) or Buffet R-13).
I'd like to try one of the Hite Professional mouthpieces but am a bit unsure of which one to try. I can't try them in store so I'll have to order one online and go from there.
Also, what are your experiences and thoughts on these mouthpieces? I've read they are very good but I'm open to your opinions as well.

I don't know how they are now that David Hite is not making them anymore.
For a while after his death you couldn't get them at all (except the premiere which is just a plastic student model). Then the rights were sold ((babbit??))
They are now made again, but don't know if they are as good as they were before. I liked the Hite D facing and used to have my students play them as a top choice for a good and affordable professional mouthpiece.
Ironically just 3 months before Hite's death he wrote me saying "I wonder if the Gigliotti mouthpiece will continue to live now that he is gone."
He had no clue at the time that he was so close to it himself.

Dear Ashley 91489,
I have a Hite J (stands for Jean, his wife) which is a wonderful mouthpiece. It is a little more open than the Hite D (stands for Dave, himself) and makes more sense coming from the B45Dot. Just be ready to adjust down in tip opening. This means you will think the combination a bit "weak" until the embouchure adjusts to it. Resist going up a reed strength for a week or so.

ML41 is my favourite. A shade closer perhaps, certainly freer than the Hite D I tried, with terrific projection, quite bright (in a positive way).
Just goes to show that a favoured mouthpiece is in the eye of the beholder!

I recently bought a used Selmer Signet Special clarinet as a back up to my Selmer Series 9. The Signet came with a Hite Premiere mp. Although it is only a plastic student mouthpiece, I was amazed at how good it sounded on both the Signet and Series 9 compared to my Vandoren and Portnoy
mp(s).
I know you are looking for a professional Hite mp, but the Hite Premiere is a winner.

Emily is using the D facing. Her set up is a Buffet C12 with a Moennig Barrel and 56 Rue Lepic #3 reeds. The Hite mouthpiece sounds great! I guess the M is a bit brighter, and the J is recommended for those doubling on sax. She is playing classical so the D seems ideal. Her teacher plays the M facing on an R13, and they sound is very similar.

I have a Hite Premier that was my favorite mpc for a long time. It's only real issue was the altissimo where it just wouldn't play well. Otherwise it was a great mpc. I tried the Hite professional mpc's & did not like them. They did not inspire anything in me unfortunately, as I really expected to like them after my Premier experience. I ultimately have ended up playing a Greg Smith Chicago & love it.
MOO, YMMV, & I'm not a pro - only a decent amateur!
