Here is a High School Recording of the Finzi Clarinet Concerto
http://download.yousendit.com/2635E9425828F4A5
It's NOT a quality recording by any chance, but before you tear it apart:
1) It was done in 1.5 takes (it's stiched together, can you there where?)
2) I hadn't practiced it in 1.5 weeks prior
3) The orchestra hadn't practiced in 1.5 weeks prior
4) Our Orchestra is an Audition-Free high school Strings orchestra, Aka: only 1~2 player per section can ACTUALLY play their parts Aka: we suck :(
Ya other than that, all comments/constructive critisisms are Welcome :D
I'll start:
1)Ya I flubbed some notes.... (This is where practicing comes in...lol)
2)I hate the way I did the Cadenza, just didn't come out like how i wanted it to (Practice also helps...)

Yes, those string players are terrible. I would dismiss them and get new ones. This confirms my suspicion, that it is harder to get a good sound from a string instrument than a woodwind, that it takes much longer to become competent on a string instrument, particularly in the areas of clean articulation, intonation, and tonal quality...hey, that's just about everything. About the only thing string players seem to be able to do better than wind players is play fast.
Be thankful you are a clarinet player. BTW, to my non-pro ears, you sounded pretty good.
