I'd never heard of this model before, either, and my first thought was that it was an E13 with an extra key or two but it turns out they have no special keys and some digging at the Buffet website turned up some, for me, intriguing information in a different direction. That these had a D-prefix, the same as the French-made Evettes would suggest that the Evette is their base model (rather than the K-series Evette & Schaeffer). Consistent with this observation, Buffet gives the model name as "E12 Master Model."
But in contradiction to this designation, the E14's were made in France, after production of Evettes, in general, had been shifted to Germany. Also, by the time these were made, the "Evette" had been renamed the "E11" and the "Evette Master Model" the E12. To me, then, "E12 Master Model" seems redundant and an alternative hypothesis suggests itself. The Evette & Schaeffer became the E13 and its production stayed in France. The Evette & Schaeffer Master Model, on the other hand, appears to have disappeared. So I wonder if the E14 might not be the successor of the E&S Master Model.
French-made Evette or E&S Master Model or something else? Take your pick. In any case, probably a decent student-model.
Best regards,
jnk
