I wasn't sure how to title this. But I was doing some thinking, and I was wondering if any manufacturer has every put out a marketing cd. Meaning, has legere every paid for and put out a CD featuring only legere artists? Vandoren? Buffet? Etc.
I was just thinking that this would be a good way to 'show off' your product. Imagine a wind ensemble that was put together by Leblanc, playing only Leblanc instruments on that CD to show that leblanc instruments can sound that good. Something like that...

Plus, a CD tells more (apart from the artists' abilities) about the quality of the recording and post-production than about the instruments, IMHO.

I have seen promo DVDs from Yamaha and Buffet with artists talking about the instruments, but no group performances.
Last year, there was a Clarinet concert produced by Yamaha. All the players were using the newest models, of course.

Yes, and sometimes in sponsered recitals for the company, the artist doesn't even play the advertised brand and gets caught doing that.

In the early 1950s, Selmer put out several 10" 78s and LPs pressed by London with a joint Selmer/London label. My old teacher has the 78s and I have the clarinet LPs, featuring Ulysse Delecluse in remarkable performances of, among other things, the Saint-Saens sonata. There was also an LP of a sextet from Garde Republicaine band playing Eb down through Eb contra.
Leblanc put out a couple of LPs of Daniel Bonade talking and playing, but they're very rare, and I've never been able to find them.
Buffet sponsors several players, and the Buffet logo appears on their CDs, so perhaps they give some financial backing.
It's also possible that some of the Golden Crest LPs had manufacturer backing, particularly if they're mentioned on the cover.

I have a CD entitled "Rencontre" by the Sextuor Baermann (clarinets) with Eric Aubier (trumpet on a couple of works) on the Maguelone label. On the disc, in addition to the Maguelone logo, there is also a logo with the traditional Henri Selmer Paris Marque in a square border, two sides of which spell out Vents (Winds) Collection. This logo also appears (along with Maguelone) on the back of the booklet and the back label of the CD case. Those two logos are on the front label (cover of the CD booklet) as well, with several other logos. There is no explanation. It seems obvious Selmer had something to do with the production, though whether they helped sponsor it or provided some or all of the specific works performed from their library (do they have such a library?), or something else is not clear. There's no indication of the manufacturer of the instruments used. In the one picture of the group with instruments, I can't make out any logos, except perhaps a (very) faint circular logo on the contralto clarinet that, along with the clarinet's design, suggests it might be a Selmer. The front cover of the booklet gives an April, 1996 copyright date but the disc, itself, is marked SACD!

Yamaha has streaming videos online of brass players touring the factory. For a finale, the entire workforce then picks up horns and plays along with the "artist."
They sound great.
One features a trumpter who was member of Canadian Brass (I think)
and another had Yeo, bass trombone w. BSO
Cool stuff.

There was a famous (well, not so famous) marketing LP demonstrating Selmer clarinets done by Robert McGinnis in the late 50's or early 60's. It was called "Robert McGinnis Plays the Clarinet" (Award Artist Series AAS 702) where he plays a number of contest pieces.
What was interesting was that he used a Bundy resonite clarinet on Side 1, and a Selmer pro wood clarinet on Side 2...GBK
