The winner was Benjamin Lulich who is currently playing 2nd and Eb clarinet in Kansas City (on a one year position). He was also the winner of the One Year position in Memphis a few weeks ago. James Zimmerman, who just finished his Master's Degree here with Burt Hara won the Second Clarinet position in Pacific.

Yes,
Ben Lulich's playing is truly something special. I was at a festival last summer with him, and he is one of those musicians that doesn't come around everyday.

Yes,
Ben went right after me at the Pacific audition and plays beautifully. I asked him which job he would take if he won both, because I knew he won Memphis as well. Kudos to him for a job well done. I think I'll stay home for a while, until some lower profile positions open up. :-)
