Could it be the store logo from where it was purchased? C. Fisher and others used to emboss their imported instruments.
BTW those mouthpieces are "the good stuff" (I know that Bill already knows this)

Excellent! A good one!
"Evettine" is enclosed within a "flag" that reminds me of those used by SML on their instruments. I do think it's some kind of Buffet moniker that apparently wasn't too popular!!!
Has one of the highest baffles I've ever seen; very loud and bright-sounding (even for me, and I don't mind "bright").
I'll just have to add it to the the other mysteries - an "H. Schrieber, New York" and an "Akademie Handmade Paris" (V.K. is working on that one now).

The mouthpiece is old. It predates Evette and Evette & Schaeffer names that first appeared on the Buffet clarinets/products. It could be a version of Paul's Evette name (one of the owners of Buffet) on the mouthpiece.

Thanks again, Vytas! And what a different concept of pleasing tone they must have had then. Mine's a hooter ... super-high baffle, narrow throat.
I've come to the conclusion talking about Chedeville blanks is like talking about General Motors cars. There was one for every style of playing.
