 Buffet DG

I just finished reading a post with the person thinking about buying one, but when i looked on Buffet's web site it wasn't listed. Is this a new line of Buffet clarinets. Or is it an intermediate or beginner horn? Just curious.

I think the DG was introduced a few years back. It's a professional model, similar to the R13 prestige, RC prestige, and festival, but it isn't as well know yet as the other models. They should list it on their site, I have no idea why they wouldn't. Maybe you could email them?

I don't know how true is this but my friend who owns a DG Bb told me that DGs are a 'while-stocks-last' item. It was designed and produced during a certain period of time. Perhaps somebody who knows better can explain?

The Buffet Dg is no longer manufactured -- via F. Kloc!

My advice to owners of the DG is to gather all the technical data you'll ever want on the instrument now. I've tried getting technical information from Boosey & Hawkes on my 1974 Buffet Super Dynaction Bb clarinet without success. Does anyone think Paris would answer me directly? Would I have to correspond in French?

Fred, I actually tried to get some information about your 1974 Buffet Super Dynaction Bb clarinet but I didn't succeed. Then I was off the BBoard for a while and forgot to get back to you. Sorry sorry sorry.
I actually play a DG-Bb and maybe I will follow your advice. I'm actually quite happy with it. It has a narrow bore that gives a quite nice resistance and a dark sound. I've forgotten the size of the bore and the clarinet is at work so I can't check it right now, but I know there are several people on this Board who have all these figures in their head.

Don't think a thing of it, Alphie. No contact almost always means no information available. I am curious to find out about people's experience with contacting the Buffet factory in Paris. Do they try to be helpful?
