I will be performing "Parto, parto" from Mozart's opera La clemenza di Tito on my recital. In my program notes, I would like to include the text and translation of the aria. Must I also include information such as Act I, Scene 9, and Sesto at the top of the text, or is that only necessary when more than one aria of the same opera are being performed?

Eddie, there is no "must" in this matter. You do whatever you think is best. I think there is no need to provide act numbers etc. You should provide enough information so that the interested listener can enhance their knowledge and so that the uninterested listener has something to read. If you provide too much technical information such as act numbers, it makes the program look cluttered.

But surely, just having one more line on the text won't make it cluttered! Just, more accurate. I'll come back with more info on this if I have it, so bear with me.
