Ok, thanks. I am now looking into piano lessons(which will be hard, money and time limited, as well as not owning a piano).
So Far my top 4 choices are University of North Texas, Baylor (Texas), Lawrance University (WI) and U of Mass.,Lowell. Does anyone know how the acceptance percent rate is for any of these? If not, how can I look them up. And are these decent music ed. schools. Some of these pamphlets are too good to be true!!! How do I make sure these schools are OK? How do I look into this stuff (my head hurts)...

My music profesor is a grad of N. Texas. They (acoording to several musicians I know) have a fantastic music program. I've also heard some raves about Texas Tech in Lubuck if you like a drier climate. The only thing I've hear about Baylor is their medical branch which is top notch, but nothing about their music program though.

I live 10 mins away from UNT, and it has an excellent music program. I go and listen to the Wind Symphony and the orchestra often, and the performances are always spectacular. I personally love Baylor's program. Many music majors come out of Baylor, especially on clarinet. The clarinet professor there is wonderful, Dr. Richard Shanley. The clarinet studio is excellent, along with all the other instruments. You definetly get to know your professors at Baylor, because it is a smaller program. You get a lot of attention as a music major there, whether it be ed. or performance. Definetly go visit Baylor. Good luck!
