I am considering purchasing Sibelius Six First. I have read one past discussion on this billboard on the merits of sibelius and finale, however I did not know if posters were referring to the professional sibelius version or the newer release Sibelius Six First. Has anyone used this and what are your thoughts. Thanks.

Hi Alex,
Thank you for responding. No I do not have any other notation programs. I need the program so I can make arrangements for my ensemble and not hand write the parts. If the stripped down version can do this great. I just want to work with the easiest program that will get the job done.

Sibelius has a bit of a learning curve, but it's not terrible, and once you get past it, it's the easiest I've used. Whether First will cut it for you just depends on whether it has the features you need.
